In 「HUB of the WORLD – collaborative learning series –」, using our unique feature as a part of global network, Impact Hub Kyoto aims to offer opportunities to share expertise and best practices of the collaborators around the world with you and support your first step as a change maker.

First of this series, Vol.1 Create a vision and make it into action! offers a day to learn a process of actualizing your dream and idea.

– What is a great vision?
– How to find your vision (it’s a process)
– Chunking down your vision in a workable strategy
– How to successfully apply strategy in action in your business?

Impact Hub Amsterdam member and entrepreneur/consultant, Jeroen Maes, will lead the first session to offer essence of learning as a business owner and share steps to become proactive with a good vision and strategy.
Impact Hub Boulder member and Design thinking expert, Mekayla Beaver, will lead the second session to offer a practical skill to make a vision into action.

Drs. Jeroen Maes has a Masters Degree in Economics (International Management), and an one year degree (propedeuse) in Psychology, from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He also studied one semester at NTU university in Singapore.

In 2006, Jeroen Co-Founded business consultancy company Realize!. Realize! specializes in the application of Conscious Business in the fields of organizational and leadership development. He worked with a broad range of companies from Multinationals like IBM and Microsoft to many fast growing small & medium sized businesses. www.realize.nl

Jeroen Co-Founded Waking Up The Workplace, an online teaching academy about the most innovative tools in business. www.wakinguptheworkplace.com Working together with people like David Allen, Otto Scharmer, Fred Kofman and Brian Robertson.

Internationally, Jeroen worked in the Netherlands, Germany, England, Mexico, Guatemala, South Africa and the United States. In Guatemala he helped Fred Kofman (MIT teacher of the year, Executive Coach and author of the book “Conscious Business”) in the Business Start Up of the Conscious Business Center.

Jeroen is passionate about exploring life, personal development, traveling countries, innovative technologies and studying ancient traditions. Finally, he is an avid practioner of Martial Arts (Kung FU, Tai Chi), Chi Kung and Meditation.

Mekayla is the founder of Gloworm, a collaborative of individuals helping organizations around the world tackle social and environmental problems through human-centered design methods. She believes strongly that in order to come up with solutions to problems that affect people, you must first gain insight into the way they think, feel and act. She has spent the last decade working with organizations ranging from huge non-profits to tiny start-ups,in order to create positive change in the world by engaging stakeholders through participatory design, guiding teams to creative and effective solutions,  and teaching and building capacity for innovation. Before starting her own consultancy, Mekayla worked for many years as a lead design strategist at IDEO, a world renowned hub of design thinking and innovation. She remains stubbornly optimistic that by designing for and with people, we can overcome many of the most serious problems we face.
